Scholarship Foundation We
are a non-profit organization comprised of a small group of individuals in the
South Broward County area dedicated to providing college tuition assistance to
selected students.
The Foundation's goal is to give high
school students who reside within our boundaries and are in need of financial
assistance a chance to attend college. The awards are tuition grants--gifts,
not loans. These scholarships are awarded primarily to students who have exhausted
other means of obtaining funds and still need up to fifteen hundred dollars to
cover a years' expenses. Since 1964, the foundation has provided almost three
million dollars in scholarships to more than two thousand worthy students including
$835,835.00 in scholarships since July 2000. These awards have helped students
to begin their studies in diverse fields. In many cases, aid is continued through
graduation with financial need established each year. The
Foundation works closely with the guidance department of each high school. Students
are recommended by their guidance counselors, and are then interviewed personally
by at least two qualified members of our organization. Proceeds
from all fund-raising endeavors are used to aid those students who have qualified
for scholarships. The Foundation is totally non-profit. It staffs no paid employees
and maintains no offices. Donations go directly to the students' education. Every
penny we raise goes for scholarships to assist with financial aid and fund the
student the entire time they are in college. We encourage
grant money from personal foundations, trusts, businesses and donations from the
public to assist worthy students. Monies can be donated to celebrate events or
for memorials. All donations are, of course, tax deductible. |
